The Horticultural Society returns to the garden
They left on March 14th, with demonstrations of grafting and pruning… After more than three months away from the fruit trees, 37 amateur gardeners (finally) met, on Saturday, around Auguste Buard and Guy Le Bars, speakers from the Plérinaise Society of Horticulture and Floral Art. Back in Henri Hello’s garden, in Plélo, they were able to see the effects of the spring pruning of the trees and to follow up on the summer pruning.
The formation of workshops also allowed them to practice what is called “green pruning”, to obtain beautiful fruits and to prepare for the flowering of 2021″; they also took advantage of their return to sell their plants and fruits as well as the second-hand garden decorations they collected during the confinement. This year, we see little or no stone fruit, well stocked pear trees and vines, apple trees with various loads”, noted the officials, who do not let their students leave without telling them how much pruning they have to do all summer.
